Having spent many years installing and supporting equipment from a variety of manufacturers, we have partnered with several top-tier companies to provide stable and robust equipment. We cannot stress enough how purchasing good equipment significantly bolsters the "Uptime" of a network. We have also discovered that many manufacturers are very capable in one area and somewhat "uninspiring" in others. As a result, we may recommend several vendors for one project. Rest assured that our recommendations are based on our many years of experience.Are you considering equipment that is built locally to save a little money? Any company seriously considering new equipment should only consider a product that has been produced by a large and well-known manufacturer. Having a large corporation stand behind equipment (in addition to LYNX locally) is important for several reasons. Parts availability is the key point to consider. Although LYNX (and any other VAR) does have stock parts for many different types of equipment, it is physically impossible to have all the necessary parts for all machines. That is the last thing a company wants to hear as their "downed" server sits idle and their employees are sent home. Partnering with a large manufacturer provides the best assurance that parts are readily available with rapid turnaround. Most servers installed for LYNX's customers are covered under a Three Year, 7 x 24 hour, and 4-hour response service contract backed by the manufacturer. This coverage is invaluable.
Our years of experience have taught us an important lesson: it is worth paying a little more for the right product the first time. Clearly the cost of rebuilding a network a second time is very high and can result in days (or more) of lost production.
